Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences believes that institutions of higher learning have a responsibility to the communities beyond their campus borders. The College collaborates with local schools, community organizations, and youth groups through a range of programs and events, including:
the collaboratory
The Collaboratory – whose name stems from its role as a “laboratory for collaboration” – is a space created by ACPHS to work in partnership with local community-based organizations on programs aimed at improving the health of residents of Albany's South End and the surrounding neighborhoods. The Collaboratory is located at 200 South Pearl Street, Albany, NY.
For more information, please visit the Collaboratory.
Student Operated Pharmacies
ACPHS operates two not-for-profit community pharmacies in medically underserved areas of New York's Capital Region. The first pharmacy, College Hometown Pharmacy, opened in 2016 in the Hometown Health Centers clinic in Schenectady, NY. The second pharmacy, College Parkside Pharmacy, opened in 2017 and is currently located in the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center in Albany. Each pharmacy offers the dual benefit of (1) providing a distinctive and innovative experience for ACPHS students and (2) improving access to pharmacy and health care services for members of the local community.

Albany Community Health Day
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences hosts an annual Albany Community Health Day each fall for the local community.
